Cofounder of LXG, also known as the League of Extraordinary Gamers, Fabian Samuel also heads Indfrag Limited as chief operating officer. Aside from his career, Fabian Samuel dedicates a portion of his time to supporting charities, such as those dedicated to rebuilding Japan following its recent tsunami.
Japan was hit by an 8.9 earthquake on March 11, 2011, which triggered a tsunami devastating the northern regions of the country. For a year following the event, the region experienced 5,000 aftershocks, the largest of which reached a magnitude of 7.9. According to Live Science, the Japanese government estimates the natural disaster resulted in $300 billion of destruction. Japan’s National Police Agency also confirmed 15,891 deaths as of April 10, 2015, with an additional 2,500 people still missing. Taking shelter in temporary housing, 230,000 citizens remain without homes.
The country’s Reconstruction Agency leads the initiative to rebuild the region. Overseeing all aspects of reconstruction and revitalization, the agency looks to not only restore devastated areas, but instill preventative measures for future incidences. Worldwide, organizations, including Peace Winds America, the American Red Cross, UNICEF, and the Salvation Army, also continue to accept monetary and material donations to support the relief efforts.
